Wendell Shannon, born and raised in Baltimore City, discovered his passion for writing in elementary school, throughout his educational experience, and at Catonsville Community College. Drawn into street life for years, he eventually faced incarceration, where he earned his associate’s degree in general studies from Essex Community College.
Upon his release in 2003, Mr. Shannon executed his “handle your business plan” and relentlessly pursued his dreams. He founded Go Daddy Productions to publish his greeting cards and books. On his publishing journey, and after opening Words By Wendell bookstores, Mr. Shannon published several titles under his GDP imprint, including For the Love of Fast Money (2004), Business As Usual (2005), and The Wolf Trap by Dennis Wise (2006).
Becoming a longshoreman at the Port of Baltimore by day in 2006, he furthered his education at Coppin State University and proudly graduated in 2009, earning a bachelor’s degree in Applied Psychology.
